We are very excited about the construction of a new Hope Center in the mountainous village of Thoman. This village is located about an hour’s drive from our current Hope Center. Approximately 6,000 people live in or near this village that has primitive housing, no electricity, no running water, no jobs, no medical care, and not much else.

The new Hope Center will have a medical clinic, dental clinic, housing for an American medical missionary family, dorms for visiting mission teams, kitchen, laundry facilities, two rooms for visitors staying several weeks or longer, and eating/meeting space for mission teams.

The new Hope Center, in addition to the medical/dental services, will allow us to help provide new housing, jobs, increased educational opportunities for the children, clean water, enhanced agriculture production, and, of course, the Good News of the gospel.

Along with Mark Rich and David Lewis, I was in Thoman two weeks ago interviewing people about the needs in the community.

Showing the plans for the new Hope Center to a family living in desperate poverty.

She doesn’t know how old she it but she believes she is in her 90’s. The new Hope Center can make the life of her great-granddaughter infinitely better than hers.

Construction is underway on Pastor Mathurin’s house. He wife, 7 children, and 2 nephews will be moving in soon.

Meanwhile, Back At The Ranch
While we are preparing to build the new Hope Center in Thoman, much work continues in Gallette Chambon, the place of our original Hope Center. The sustainable community we are building continues to grow and thrive, though there are still incredible needs.

Visiting with sweet Marta at her home. She always makes me laugh!

This little fella is full of himself! I think I know what she is thinking!!

New house built last month by college students from Huntsville, AL. This young family had no home of their own. Now they do!

We learned of this horrible situation on the trip two weeks ago. This mud hut, with a dirt floor, is in terrible shape. When you push against the walls they almost fall over. Her teenage son sleeps in a small bed against the wall and she and the other two children sleep on a mat on the floor.

Another horrendous situation next to the one above. This woman and her husband have 10 children. They all live in this small mud hut.

The husband and wife sleep on this pitiful bed and the 10 children sleep on a straw mat on the floor.

The kitchen for this family of 12.

Incredible Opportunities
If you would like to help build a house for the two families above, you can designate a gift for that purpose. Each house costs $5,000. When we collect the funds, we can begin construction and their lives will be forever changed. You can send your check (put “Mud Huts” in the memo line) to But God Ministries at 1440 North State Street, Jackson, MS, 39202 or give online HERE. If you give online, type “Mud Huts” in the comments section.

We are grateful to God and the many partners in ministry who have enabled us to make so much progress in a short amount of time. As you can imagine, it takes many resources to do the work we are doing. Thank you for your continued support and especially your prayers. Haiti presents countless obstacles but His power is enabling us to carry on and make a difference in the lives of hurting Haitians.

Can’t Wait To See What God Does Next,
